From Kwara United U-15 to FC Van Armenia: John Emmanuel Unekwu, The versatile youngster to Watch.

John Emmanuel Unekwu, a young football prodigy born and raised in Nigeria, has emerged as one of the most promising talents to watch at FC Van in Armenia. At just 20 years old, Unekwu is a product of Nigeria’s vibrant grassroots football scene and the fertile ground of the Nigerian Premier League youth teams.

His football journey began when he won bronze medal with the Nigerian National U-17 Team in Togo, 2021, where he quickly made a name for himself, showcasing his talents, creating magical and historic moments. His exceptional skills earned him a spot with the Kwara United Football Club senior team, after an impressive series of performances from the Kwara United U-15, he was promoted to the senior squad.

His rise didn’t stop there,

Following his time in Nigeria, Unekwu moved to Europe, starting with FDC Vista in Russia while he was just 16 years old. His journey took him to Bulgaria, where he signed with Botev Plovdiv. Now, he is on loan to FC Van in Armenia, continuing his growth as a footballer in a competitive European environment.

Despite his remarkable journey across three European countries, Unekwu has maintained a relatively low profile, which has led to many Nigerians forgetting about his talent,  However, it’s clear that this young star has the potential to make an impact on the international stage, as he is ready to serve his father land.

At just 19, Unekwu has already made a name for himself in the football world, and he remains a valuable asset for Nigeria. It’s time for the country to recognize his immense potential and secure his place in the U-20, U-23 or even super Eagles team, where he can continue to shine and represent Nigeria on a global level.

This young star is undoubtedly one to watch as he continues to rise in the world of football, and one unique part of the lad is, his versatile playing ability, which has made him feature in different playing positions under different coaches, Like the Center Back, Defensive Midfield, and Right Full Back.
