City FC Abuja Promoted to NNL as Chidi Praises Kaduna Fans and Promises a Strong Comeback
City FC Abuja has officially secured promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) after a perfect run at the NLO-NNL playoffs. The team topped their group, winning all three matches played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Centre in Kaduna.
Speaking after the victory, Club President Mr. Chidi Okonkwo expressed deep pride in the team’s performance and praised the dedication shown by the players. He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the fans, especially those in Kaduna, who came out in large numbers to support the club throughout the playoffs.
“We couldn’t have done it without our supporters, The love and encouragement from Kaduna fans were simply amazing, and we are grateful.” Chidi said

Mr. Chidi also thanked the club’s partners and sponsors for their behind the scenes support, though he chose not to disclose their names at this time.

On the quality of officiating during the playoffs, the club president said he was satisfied, even though he acknowledged that opinions might differ from opponents. “Football is full of emotions. While I think the officiating was fair, I understand others might see it differently. Mistakes can happen, it is part of the game.”
Looking ahead to life back in the NNL, Chidi promised a stronger and more prepared City FC Abuja. He admitted the journey comes with challenges, especially with limited sponsorship, but remains confident in the team’s future.

“I have been in the NNL before, I know what it takes. This time, we are returning with more experience and valuable lessons learned. Our fans can expect a better and more powerful City FC Abuja.”

He rounded off by bidding farewell to the Kaduna football community and thanked them once again for their incredible hospitality and support.

City FC Abuja now turns her focus to the upcoming NNL season, aiming to make a big impact.
