Bayelsa United’s Issa Yusuf Refutes Wrong Date of Birth on Transfermarkt Profile

Bayelsa United FC’s rising star, Issa Yusuf, has publicly addressed an error on his player profile on popular football database, Transfermarkt.com, stating that the platform has inaccurately listed his date of birth.

In a statement made available today, the talented right-back clarified that his correct date of birth is September 9, 2006, contrary to the October 18, 2005 date currently displayed on the website.

“My date of birth is 09-09-2006 and not 18-10-2005,” Yusuf said. “I have tried several times to get in touch with Transfermarkt to correct the error, but I’ve received no response so far.”

To support his claim, Yusuf presented his official international passport, which clearly states the accurate birth date. He has since called on fans, clubs, and football stakeholders to disregard the incorrect information published on the website.

Yusuf urged Transfermarkt to expedite the correction process, emphasizing the importance of accurate data for players’ careers, especially young talents like himself who are climbing the professional ladder.
